Well those days unfortunately are no longer with us! And the days of false information has arrived! The Internet. –  Note, just because you read it on the internet, does not mean it’s true!!

Nowadays with most of us, being very careful with how they are spending their money, and with the over flux of Used Cars, and the demand for information, Ala CarFax, AutoCheck etc. Consumers shopping for Quality Used Vehicles, are being consumed and confused, with information and options. With valuation tools, that are over inflated, as they are there to serve, the Used Car Industry (Car Dealers), to drive sales, by overstating vehicle values…. Ala Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, etc…

As a Professional Car Buyer at Cash For Cars Long Island, The first thing customer states, is Kelly Blue Book, said my vehicle is worth ???? whatever the number was.. My response is always the same, Well. Mr./Mrs. Customer, let’s think about this, If you were in the market for a Used Car, and came along the car you’ are looking to Sell, would you pay the amount Mr. Kelley said it was worth??? • Ebay Motors  tip, check for completed listings!! – As live listings only show perceived Used Car Value & Completed Listing show examples of what someone was willing to actually pay for that Used Car!

Now keeping, mileage, condition, drive-ability and repairs that might need to be done, an industry standard of 10-15% negotiation room, you are left with what your vehicle is worth in today’s market!!

Now for the Fun, Or Not So Fun Part:

• Prepping…ie, mechanical prep, possible body repairs, and final detailing, refinishing.
• Advertising…ie, paying to get the word out to consumers, that the vehicle is for sale.
•  Fielding a ton of phone calls from perspective buyers.
• Meeting with buyers, providing a carfax or such.
• Dealing with: Can you bring this to my mechanic, does it come with a warranty??
